From the Principal

Tryo Newbey

Dear Esteemed Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Students,

I am thrilled and honored to introduce myself as the new Principal at Rebecca Turner Academy. As I step into this role, I am filled with enthusiasm and a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing and enriching educational environment for our young adult learners.

Allow me to share a little bit about myself. My name is Troy Newbey, and I have been an educator for 18 years in the Mount Vernon City School District and 12 as an assistant principal. I firmly believe that each child is unique, possessing their own strengths and abilities. It is our duty as educators to cultivate these talents and provide a well-rounded education that prepares them for success both academically and in life.

My philosophy as an educator is centered on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where students can thrive and develop a love for learning. Collaborating with our dedicated team of teachers and staff, I am committed to encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset among our students.

Moreover, fostering open communication and strong relationships with parents and the community is of utmost importance to me. I believe that when we work together as a united front, we can empower our students to reach their full potential.

In the coming weeks, I am eager to meet each and every one of you. My door will always be open, and I wholeheartedly welcome your thoughts, ideas, and feedback. Together, we will build upon the strong foundation laid by our school and embrace innovation to ensure that our students receive the best possible education.

As we embark on this new journey together, I am confident that with our collective efforts, we can create an inspiring and exceptional educational experience for all young adults.

Thank you for entrusting me with this vital role. I am truly excited to serve as your newly appointed Principal and look forward to a fantastic academic year ahead!

Warmest Regards,

Troy Newbey
